Rich Text to Markdown Converter
Client-side React/Next.js utility that converts rich text pasted from Word or Google Docs into clean Markdown — built to solve a real formatting bottleneck for a marketing team while working part-time.

This is a focused utility tool I built to solve a specific, recurring problem for a marketing team I was working with part-time: content written in Word or Google Docs (with headings, bold, links, lists) needed to go into Markdown-based systems, and manual reformatting was eating time on every piece of content that moved between the two.
What I built:
- A paste-in interface that takes rich text copied directly from Word or Google Docs and converts it to clean, correctly-structured Markdown — preserving headings, bold/italic, links, and lists instead of dumping raw HTML artifacts or broken formatting.
- Client-side only (React/Next.js, no backend) — the conversion runs entirely in the browser, so there's no upload step, no latency, and no content ever leaves the user's machine.
Why it mattered:
This came out of an actual workplace bottleneck, not a hypothetical: a marketing team producing content in Word/Docs but publishing into Markdown-based tools needed a fast, reliable bridge between the two formats. Rather than manual reformatting per document, this made it a paste-and-copy step. It's a small tool, but it's a good example of spotting a real workflow gap and shipping a targeted fix instead of over-engineering a solution.
Stack: React/Next.js, fully client-side.
